Jennifer has always enjoyed spending time with and helping children. Her full-time employment began as an elementary teacher where she made a point to connect with and support the students who were experiencing challenges, whether these were academic, social-emotional or behavioural. This interest led to completing a Master of Arts in School Psychology. Jennifer has spent more than 25 years working as a psychologist mainly with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) in addition to part-time private practice work. In both settings, she is known for being a good listener, and she enjoys collaborating with others to better support clients.

Jennifer uses a strengths-based approach to assist clients with a wide range of learning, social-emotional, mental health, and behavioural needs. She specializes in providing comprehensive psycho-educational assessments with individuals aged five to twenty-five to assess for learning disorders/disabilities, intellectual developmental disorder (intellectual disability) and ADHD. This information helps clients and their families better understand their unique learning profiles. Results are provided in a sensitive manner using a strengths-based approach along with recommendations that are practical for the school setting. This assists clients and their families with advocating for supports when needed, and enabling the individual to experience increased success in many aspects of their lives.
