Assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
We now excited to offer preschool and school-aged autism assessments at Spirit through team members Heather Boucher and Brittany Morrison.
There are two ways to access ASD assessment at our clinic: direct referral to Heather or Brittany, or as an extension of a psychoeducational assessment with one of our other psychologists.
All of our psychologists are able to recognize whether your child, teen or young adult is presenting with symptoms consistent enough with ASD to warrant a comprehensive and ASD-specific assessment.
If you are seeing a psychologist on the Spirit team other than Heather or Brittany and are interested in pursing an ASD assessment, an internal referral will be made to Heather/Brittany. This is our way of expediting ASD-specific concerns and prevents lengthy wait times at our clinic for this important service.
Your assigned psychologist and Heather/Brittany will then work collaboratively to provide a comprehensive and clear diagnosis if ASD is present.
Our fees for ASD assessments are comparable with other psychologists and clinics in Nova Scotia. Fees vary depending on your child/teen’s age, whether a psychoeducational assessment is needed and case complexity.
